Though Samuel Chukwueze will be hoping to join the list of Nigerian players that have won the Europa League on Wednesday when his Spanish team take on Manchester United, he remains doubtful for the game.
Chukwueze and his Villarreal teammates arrived in Gdansk, Poland on Tuesday ahead of what many predict will be an explosive Europa League final.
After the injury suffered in the semi-final second leg clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, Chukwueze got back to training last week but his full fitness is still in doubt for the Red Devils tie.
The 22-year-old was also not part of the matchday squad in Villarreal’s 2-1 home loss to Real Madrid at the weekend
The Nigeria international has scored one goal and recorded four assists in 11 appearances in the Europa League for the Yellow Submarine this season.
If Villarreal can get a win over United, they will secure a place in the UEFA Champions League next season, while defeat will see them relegated to compete in the UEFA Conference League
